In terms of design, our vegan high-top sneakers have a clean line and a sober design built on subtle interplay of eco-responsible and recycled materials.

Creating a high-top sneaker for women that is both stylish and ethical: this is the crazy challenge we took up at COG, working hard on the design of our Wallace. Produced in Europe in small family workshops, renowned for their know-how and excellent working conditions, our shoes have been entirely designed to meet the expectations of the most demanding in terms of aesthetics, comfort and durability. All this while defending the moral values ​​that are dear to us, as players in a more sustainable fashion.

Made from eco-friendly and recycled materials, our vegan women's high-top sneaker is a clever mix of cork, rubber, plastic bottles fished out of the sea and recycled PET. The perfect ingredients to make our sneaker with its clean lines and understated design the new must-have for your responsible wardrobe.

The COG team spends a lot of time prospecting for quality European materials, and demonstrates this once again with this high-top shoe featuring high-quality textured faux leather. In terms of design, they opted for a precisely adjusted upper to reach mid-ankle, and provide this high-top sneaker with the ideal height. The finishing loop, located at the back, completes this attention to detail that makes all the difference with a classic sneaker.

If designing the vegan women's high-top sneaker of your dreams was a major challenge, the main challenge was above all that you feel good in your shoes. We have therefore made it a point of honor to ensure that comfort is one of the assets of our Wallace, so that it becomes one of the centerpieces of your wardrobe, not only for its irresistible design, but also for its comfortable wear throughout the day and whatever the season.

First point to achieve this, design a high-top sneaker that is elegant in its lines, as well adapted to accommodate a thin ankle as a stronger foot, so that everyone is comfortable in the sneaker once put on. This result was obtained thanks to a memory foam reinforcement with a nice thickness of 8mm, placed at the neck of the sneaker, for perfect support of your ankle. This fleece lining also prevents the shoe from floating.

The upper of our vegan women's high-top sneaker is reinforced all along the lace loop for a perfect fit over the height, and our insole, in addition to being ecological thanks to its composition in recycled cork bark, is topped with a thin layer of micro textile to improve the cushioning sensation.

In terms of materials, the interior lining of our eco-friendly high-top sneakers is made of a recycled mesh-type material (recycled plastic bottles), which is breathable, anti-odor, anti-bacterial, anti-perspirant and hypoallergenic.

The ultimate ethical high-top sneaker for women

Let's talk little, let's talk ecology.

For us, style is above all about knowing that our shoes are produced while controlling our impact.

So, we went all out on the eco-responsibility side by choosing the best eco-designed materials for each of the parts making up our high-top sneakers, in total agreement with our ecological values.

It starts with the inner lining of our sneakers, whose coating is made up of 30% seaqual plastics (fished in the Mediterranean Sea) and 70% recycled plastic bottles.

For the insole, we are betting on a natural product thanks to the use of recycled cork bark directly produced on site in Portugal, the country where our vegan women's/men's high-top sneakers are produced.

As for the laces, we are once again betting on a recycled product for a truly eco-responsible high-top sneaker. As with our inner lining, our laces are made from collected plastic bottles, then transformed into textile materials.

Finally, what would a shoe be without the centerpiece that composes it? We are obviously talking here about the upper of our high-top sneaker.

Regarding the white Wallace, as with our classic black high-top version, we use high-quality vegan materials from major Italian houses specializing in the manufacture of imitation leather. All our materials are OEKOTEX certified, which guarantees that they protect both nature and the health of the people in charge of producing them.

If our sneakers are eco-responsible from the laces to the sole, at COG, our definition of ethical sneakers for women does not stop there.

Like all our vegan women's shoe models, our high-top sneaker is no exception to the rule since it is entirely designed without animal material. The same goes for our glues, which are made entirely from water, and our Wallace high-top sneakers are labeled PETA APPROVED VEGAN.

All our collections are Made In Europe and handmade in the northern region of Portugal, south-east of Porto, in a small family workshop, with a high level of know-how forged over the years and successive generations, with today more than 65 years of experience to its credit.

Our frequent visits to our production partners allow us to ensure that the employees working at the various assembly stations, from cutting the parts to sewing and then assembling our sneakers, receive consideration and kindness within a secure environment, with the key, fair remuneration, consistent with the sale price of our shoes.

Thanks to this approach, we can therefore benefit from the expertise of production houses renowned for the know-how of their craftsmen in the manufacture of shoes, who place consideration for employees at the heart of their concerns, as well as compliance with health and safety rules.

Finally, producing our vegan women's high-top sneakers in a country close to France allows us to considerably limit greenhouse gas emissions linked to the manufacture and transport of our shoes, which do not travel tens of thousands of kilometers to reach you.

The composition of our vegan women's high-top sneakers is evolving

To go even further in our commitment to sustainable, ethical and vegan fashion, the all-black model of our Wallace women's high-top sneaker is changing composition.

Historically, this shoe was made up of:

• From an outer covering in woven material: 100% recycled PET
• With an outer covering in imitation leather: 71% polyester / 29% cotton
• From a lining made from recycled plastic bottles
• With a removable insole made from recycled cork covered with recycled polyester
• From a 40% recycled rubber outsole
• Recycled PET laces

Now, this women's high-top sneaker is produced with a faux leather composed of grape marc, recycled polyester and water-based polyurethane. A material obtained after several steps: grape harvesting, juice extraction, recovery of grape marc, grinding of dry residues... The substance obtained is then mixed, transformed, spread and dyed, until a ready-to-use material is obtained, used for the outer coating of the shoe.

A resolutely ecological manufacturing method, which reduces the proportion of plastic in the composition of our sneakers, by favoring ingredients of natural origin such as grape marc.

How to choose the size of your vegan women's high-top sneakers?

The Wallace fits normally, but has the particularity of being narrow in width on the front of the foot. Therefore, if you think your foot is a little strong or if you are just between two sizes, we recommend that you take a size above. For example: for a 40.5, take size 41. Apart from these cases, you can choose your usual size.

When trying on your pair of women's high-top sneakers, remember to break in the shoes to make them easier to put on. The materials that make up the Wallace naturally soften over time, so its comfort will only improve.

Please note: the insoles of our sneakers are removable. If you wish, you can remove them and replace them with orthopedic insoles or other insoles of your own.

How to maintain your vegan women's high-top sneakers?

To maintain your pair of Wallace, simply wipe the outside with a damp cloth and then let them air dry. Just be careful not to expose them to direct sunlight to avoid damaging the colours.

If you want to freshen up your insoles, you can remove them and sprinkle them with a little baking soda. Place everything in an airtight bag and leave it for several hours. Shake off the powder and then put them back in your shoes: it's that simple.
