Today, our brand is going even further in eco-responsibility with the Topsy model. A designer and comfortable sneaker, made in Europe in family workshops on a human scale, from plant-based and recycled materials. A low-top women's sneaker made from eco-friendly materials

By creating the Topsy, we wanted to offer you the finest vintage in terms of ecological sneakers thanks to theuse of recycled wine waste.

To design the outer covering of our low-top vegan women's sneaker, we opted for a faux leather made from grape marc, recycled polyester and water-based polyurethane, made in 7 steps:

Juice extraction for beverages

Recovery of grape waste (skin, seeds, stems)

Grinding of dry residues (grape marc)

Mixing with binding materials

Display, texture and tint

Ready-to-use material

For the rest, we use exclusively ecological and recycled materials, certified OEKO TEX 100:

The inner lining is made from plastic bottles fished out of the Mediterranean and then recycled.

The laces are woven in Portugal from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

The insole is made of cork and recycled plastic fibers.

The outsole is made from 30% recycled rubber.

Ecological manufacturing rhymes with local production and controlled transport distances, our materials are not only selected for their quality, but also according to their origin, since all are sourced in Italy, Portugal and Spain.

The materials are then transported and assembled into shoes in the north of Portugal, less than 800 km from France. Producing in a country close to France allows us to reduce the distances of import of goods, and to avoid the use of raw materials and products from the other side of the world.

In summary, the Topsy is a 100% European women's low-top sneaker, designed to considerably limit the ecological impact linked to transport, and in particular greenhouse gas emissions.

For the interior lining, we therefore favored quality recycled materials that have antiperspirant, anti-odor, hypoallergenic and antibacterial properties. Result: unrivaled comfort all day long.

Comfortable to wear, easy to maintain

To maintain your pair of Topsy, it's very simple: a small damp cloth and a small brush to access the hollowed parts, and gently rub the outside of the shoe until it regains all its shine. All that's left is to let it dry in the open air, being careful not to expose the pair of sneakers too much to the sun so as not to deteriorate the colors.

For maintenance For faux-nubuck type parts, a soft bristle brush or a crepe brush is recommended. Take your brush and gently rub in a circular shape. That's it!

Want to give your insoles a new lease of life and a fresh smell? Remove them from your shoes, place them in an airtight bag with a little baking soda, then leave for a few hours. Shake your insoles vigorously to remove all the powder, then place them back inside your Topsy.

Last important point: our vegan women's low-top sneakers are not designed to be machine washed.

The Topsy women's low-top sneaker: a name steeped in history

More than just a sneaker, the Topsy is a true hymn to life. To find its name, we drew inspiration from the life of an elephant born in Asia in 1867 and died in New York in 1903.

Having spent her life in captivity in a circus, and suffered multiple abuses and mistreatments, in an act of self-defense - while they were trying to force her to swallow a lit cigarette - Topsy ended up killing her owner. It was decided to sentence her to death as punishment, and Topsy was electrocuted in public on January 4, 1903, at Coney Island.

As she took her last breath, Topsy became a true symbol of animal abuse. For COG, naming our women's low-top sneaker after this elephant is a way to pay tribute to her, but also to proudly display our values, calling for greater consideration of animal life.
