En créant la Topsy, on a voulu vous proposer le plus fin millésime en matière de basket écologique grâce à l'utilisation de déchets viticoles recyclés.

Pour concevoir le revêtement extérieur de notre sneaker basse pour femme vegan, on a opté pour un similicuir composé de marc de raisin, de polyester recyclé et de polyuréthane à base d'eau, fabriqué en 7 étapes : 

Récolte du raisin 

Extraction du jus pour boissons 

Récupération des déchets du raisin (peau, pépins, tiges) 

Broyage des résidus sec (marc de raisin) 

Mélange aux matières liantes 

Étalage, texture et teinte 

Matière prête à l'emploi 

Pour le reste, on utilise exclusivement des matières écologiques et recyclées, certifiées OEKO TEX 100 : 

La doublure intérieure est fabriquée à base de bouteilles plastiques repêchées en Méditerranée, puis revalorisées. 

Les lacets sont tissés au Portugal à partir de polytéréphtalate d'éthylène (PET) recyclé. 

La semelle intérieure est composée de liège et de fibres plastiques recyclées. 

La semelle extérieure est en caoutchouc recyclé à 30 %. 

Fabrication écologique rimant avec production locale et distances de transports maîtrisées, nos matériaux sont non seulement sélectionnés pour leur qualités, mais aussi selon leur provenance, puisque tous sont sourcés en Italie, au Portugal et en Espagne. 

Les matières sont ensuite acheminées et montées en chaussures dans le nord du Portugal, à moins de 800 km de la France. Produire dans un pays proche de la France, nous permet de réduire les distances d’importation des marchandises, et d'éviter l’utilisation de matières premières et de produits venus de l'autre bout du monde.  

En résumé, la Topsy est une sneaker basse femme 100 % européenne, pensée pour limiter considérablement l’impact écologique lié au transport, et notamment les émissions de gaz à effet de serre.

For the interior covering, we therefore favored quality recycled materials which have anti-perspirant, anti-odor, hypoallergenic and antibacterial properties. Result: unparalleled comfort throughout the day.

To maintain your pair of Topsy, it's very simple: a small damp cloth and a small brush to access the hollow parts, and gently rub the outside of the shoe until it regains all its shine. All that remains is to let it dry in the open air, being careful not to expose the pair of sneakers too much to the sun so as not to deteriorate the colors.

For the maintenance of imitation nubuck type parts, a soft bristle brush or a crepe brush is recommended. Take your brush and rub gently in a circular shape. That's it !

Do you want to give your insoles a second lease of life and give them a fresh smell? Remove them from your shoes, place them in an airtight bag with a little baking soda, then leave for a few hours. Shake your soles vigorously to remove all the powder, then place them back inside your Topsy.

Last important point: our low-top vegan women's sneakers are not designed to be machine washed.

More than just a sneaker, the Topsy is a true hymn to life. To find its name, we drew inspiration from the life of an elephant born in Asia in 1867 and died in New York in 1903.

Having spent her life in captivity in a circus, and suffering multiple abuses and mistreatment, in a gesture of defense - while someone tried to make her swallow a lit cigarette - Topsy ends up killing her owner. She was sentenced to death, and Topsy was electrocuted in public on January 4, 1903, at Coney Island.

By taking her last breath, Topsy became a true symbol of animal abuse. For COG, giving the name of this elephant to our women's low-top sneaker is a way of paying homage to her, but also of proudly displaying our values, by calling for greater consideration of animal life.
